The new spring foliage is a brilliant crimson, quickly maturing to deep violet on plants just a foot and a half high and wide. The unusually tight ruffles are very showy, offering a nice contrast in color as well as texture to neighboring plants. And from late spring through early summer, masses of tiny cream-colored blooms froth above the foliage on long, slender stems!
